Interloper, or to call it by its official name “Michael Television’s Interloper” is a two-piece band, that is influenced by copy and paste beats, walls of shoegaze-inspired guitars, glitched sounds and loose and sloppy human programming of the early 80’s drum machine limitations.
While they are influenced heavily by a huge number of bands that they use to make a collage of avant-garde sounds, they are specifically working on an album that is layered and textured with saturated sounds, artifacts, pops and clicks, wobbly tapes, frazzled synths and samples so processed as to barely be recognised.
They use a combination of kit, from outboard guitar pedals, tape decks, micro-synths, valve amps and software like Cubase, Ableton, VSTs and a lot of granulated samplers.
Their current album in creation is influenced by the likes of Tobacco, Ringo Deathstarr, cLOUDDEAD, Death Grips, Sly Jnr, TAGABOW, Com Truise, Feeble Little Horse and of course, all the production of hip-hop mixtapes.
